Company: Qatar Fuel Additives Company Limited (QAFAC) is a joint venture between Industries Qatar (IQ), OPIC Middle East Corporation (OMEC), International Octane Limited and LCY Middle East Corporation (LCY Chemicals Corp – Taiwan). IQ is an affiliate of Qatar Petroleum. OMEC is beneficially owned by Chinese Petroleum Corporation (CPC).

Size: 982,350 Tons Per Year of Methanol using ICI technology and 610,000 tons per year of MTBE using UOP technology

Production:

Methanol and Methyl-Tertiary-Butyl-Ether (MTBE) with methanol being used within local industries and exported to Asia, and Europe. MTBE is sent to the Gulf region and exported to Europe, SE Asia and South America
